Coderblock S.r.l., headquartered in (hereinafter “Coderblock”) – Via Resuttana 360, 90146 Palermo (Italy) – with VAT No.: IT 06466180822 and in Miami Beach (FL) 868 Commerce Street, www.coderblock.com, as the data controller (hereinafter “Controller”), informs you, pursuant to Art. 13-14 EU Regulation 679/2016 (hereinafter “GDPR”), that the data you provide and/or acquired from third parties, are processed in the manner and for the purposes described below:
1. Object of processing
The Data Controller will process the personal data provided by you or obtained from third parties during the completion of online contact request forms, during registration on the platform published on the website www.coderblock.com, or during the use of the same platform, for the provision of the requested online services. The data processed belong to the category of common data, and will include, by way of example and not exhaustively: name, surname, email, telephone number, image of the data subject, as well as data collected during navigation activities and/or use of the services provided by the platform, such as IP address, navigation choices, technical cookies (hereinafter “Data”).
In the event that the Data Subject uses the artificial intelligence service made available within the platform, they will consent to the processing, by the Controller and the service provider, of the data shared during use, whether they fall into the category of common data or special data. The website and online services are intended for users over 18 years of age. This data will also be used to fulfill your requests and for participation in events organized on Coderblock.
2. Cookie and site tracking
In compliance with EU Dir. 2009/136/EC of 25/11/2009, the Owner informs you that this site uses cookies or similar tools to allow us to improve our service and offer you some useful features. This may include cookies from business partners that are stored by your computer or device when you visit our site (Cookie Policy). Please visit the websites of our business partners for information about their cookie and privacy policies. Cookies are small text files that are transferred to your computer or device via your web browser to enable us to recognize your browser and help us track visitors to our site, thus enabling us to better understand the products and services that will be most suitable for users. 3. Legal basis and purpose of processing
Your personal data are processed, without your consent, for the purposes of handling and responding to requests made on the site, as well as registration on the platform and participation in organized events, (art. 6.1.b of the GDPR – processing necessary for the execution of pre-contractual measures requested by the data subject). In addition, only upon your explicit consent (art. 6.1.a of the GDPR – processing carried out upon the express consent of the data subject), will be processed for purposes of (i) direct marketing, (ii) user profiling, (iii) communication to third parties, partners, principals and organizers for their own purposes, including commercial purposes.
4. Method of processing and storage
The processing will be carried out by means of computer systems (cloud, internet, computer and mobile devices) and, residually on paper, in the appropriate manner to ensure confidentiality and security.
Your data will be kept in the Data Controller’s databases for only as long as is strictly necessary to process your request, in accordance with the law and as specified above, except in cases where the regulations in force do not require your data to be kept for longer periods. In the case of processing for the purposes set out in 3(i) and (ii) above, your data will be retained for a maximum of twenty-four months.
5. Provision of data and consequences of refusal
Providing your information during registration by filling in the fields highlighted as mandatory is necessary for access to the platform and participation in the event, the additional information requested is optional, however, failure to fill in the remaining fields, may affect the user experience and access to additional innovative features of the platform.
6. Data access
Your Data will be processed for the aforementioned purposes and in the aforementioned manner by personnel and/or collaborators of the Data Controller specifically authorized for processing and on the basis of the instructions received, as well as by third parties (e.g., suppliers, professionals, banks, affiliates) where they carry out outsourced activities on behalf of the Data Controller, in their capacity as external data processors.
7. Data’s disclosure
The Data Controller may communicate your data to Public Bodies in order to comply with the obligations provided for by laws, regulations or EU and national legislation, or imposed by the Authorities, who will process them in their capacity as autonomous data controllers. They may be communicated to Third Parties (e.g., suppliers, professionals, partners) where they carry out activities that are instrumental or ancillary to the services requested and the above purposes, on behalf of the Data Controller in their capacity as external data processors.
The updated list of these subjects can be requested from the Data Controller, at the addresses indicated above. The data collected under 3(iii) above, following your consent, will be disclosed to third parties, such as client companies, principals, event organizers, and will be processed for its own purposes as an autonomous data controller.
In this context Coderblock will process the aforementioned data as a data controller, for the technological services rendered. Generally, the selected service providers operate through data centers located within the territory of the European Union. In addition to the aforementioned, the Data Subject’s data will be transferred to service providers whose data centers are located in the territory of the United States of America.
Regarding the transfer of data to Third Countries, the Controller informs that the processing will be carried out in accordance with one of the methods permitted by current law (ex art. 44 and following GDPR), such as the consent of the data subject, the adoption of Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, the selection of entities adhering to international programs for the free movement of data or operating in countries considered safe by the European Commission. 8. Rights of data subject
You may at any time exercise your rights towards the Data Controller, pursuant to Articles 15-22 of EU Regulation 2016/679, and in particular the rights of access, rectification, integration and, in permitted cases the portability of the data provided, as well as to obtain the deletion, restriction or opposition to the processing of the Data for legitimate reasons and to object to automated decision-making, including profiling, as well as the right to complain to the Data Protection Authority.
The above rights may be exercised by sending an e-mail to the Data Controller at privacy@coderblock.com or to the appointed Data Protection Officer (DPO) at dpo@coderblock.com.
In order to ensure the protection of the data subject’s personal information, we may need to request additional specific information, confirming the identity of the requesting data subject and thereby guaranteeing their right to access the information (or to exercise any of their other rights) only to persons entitled to receive such communications. This is another suitable security measure for the protection of personal information.
Requesting access to one’s personal information (or to exercise any of the above rights) is free of charge. However, if the request is clearly unfounded or excessive we may charge a reasonable fee taking into account the administrative costs incurred in providing the information or refuse to comply with the request in such circumstances.
